There are many different types of containers, but the most common are the 20 ft and the 40 ft Standard General Purpose and High Cube General Purpose. The Open Top container can also be useful for loads that are difficult to manage through an entrance door.
Other containers are sometimes difficult to obtain, and include: Flat, Insulated, Refrigerated, Ventilated, Platform, Bulk and Tank containers. As well as 20 ft and 40 ft, it is also possible to find 8 ft and 10 ft containers.
Unless the load requires a special container, it is cheaper to stick with the 20 ft and 40 ft General Purpose containers. Some loads are full to volume before the weight limit, and vice versa, and it can be possible to amalgamate different types of products to optimise both weight and volume. Penvor can advise on this.
Note that the container "Payload" shown here does not mean that it is acceptable through all phases of delivery. Usually, the weight is limited by road transport regulations, and sometimes severely. Again, Penvor can advise of permissible loads.
